It's hard to imagine that almost 50 years have passed since walking the hallowed halls of RHS. I have spent most of those years in the Army either as a Soldier or a DA civilian. I enlisted when I was 17 and retired from active duty in 2004. In between, I served 39 months in Vietnam, was a UN peacekeeper in Cambodia in '91-'92, ran the JTF Somalia JOC in Mogadishu, and was the Chief of Staff for the Task Force Mountain intervasion of Haiti. I received my BA and two MA degrees while serving and graduated from the Royal Thai Army Command and Staff College in Bangkok, U.S. Command and Staff, the Naval Postgraduate School and the Navy War College. I commanded at all levels from battery through brigade and have been serving as a civilian Deputy Garrison Commander for the last ten years. My wife, Patricia, and I were blessed with two great sons and have five grandchildren. We visit Minnesota occasionally, but have grown used to the milder weather in the south. We look forward to seeing everyone at the reunion, but am battling a relapse of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, so may not be able to make it.
